As the action shifted from the familiar grounds of the Uganda Christian University courts to the vibrant atmosphere of the Yes Centre Sports Arena in Nsambya, a singular, dominant narrative took shape.
The Blacks swept the National Club Championship 2026 finals in a breathtaking display of power and resilience. It was a golden weekend defined by a simple truth: one club, two titles.
For the Sport-S Ladies Volleyball Team, the evening represented the breaking of a ceiling. Entering the tournament with zero National Club Championship titles to their name, they fought their way to their very first crown by defeating KCB Nkumba 3-1, effectively dethroning KCCA Ladies in the process.

Every single set told its own story. KCB Nkumba drew first blood by taking a tight opening set 25-22, but Sport-S answered with fierce determination, roaring back to dominate the second set 15-25. The third set proved to be a nervy one of relentless rallies, which Sport-S narrowly edged 26-24 before sealing the championship with a 25-22 victory in the fourth.
The men’s squad quickly followed suit, ensuring the celebration echoed across both divisions. Facing the UCU Doves in the Men’s Final, Sport-S delivered a clinical masterclass to sweep the match 3-0.
They set the tone early with a 25-22 win in the first set, tightened the screws defensively to cruise through the second 25-14, and capped off their sweep by taking the third set 25-22.

Both Sport-S sides ultimately claimed glory by dethroning KCCA in their respective categories.
While the women toasted to a monumental maiden triumph, the men’s victory added a prestigious 9th National Club Championship title to the club’s storied history in Uganda. The men’s journey to this latest milestone stretches back across decades of local dominance, beginning with a historic three-peat from 2000 to 2002, followed by crucial championship victories in 2006, 2008, and a glory win around 2011.
After adding another trophy in 2015 in Soroti, the club spearheaded a fierce post-pandemic resurgence, stringing together a modern three-in-a-row streak spanning 2021/2022, 2022, and 2023, culminating in their third consecutive modern title in September 2023.
