James Bogere scored Uganda Cranes equaliser against DR Congo

James Bogere salvaged a draw for Uganda Cranes with a late goal that saw the second of the two international friendlies between the two nations end 1-1 at the FNB stadium, Johannesburg.

The forward got at the end of fellow substitute Denis Omedi pass to stab home the equaliser in the 90th minute to cancel out Nathanael Mbuku’s 64th opener for the Leopards.

Ismael Kiyonga rates the Uganda Cranes players from the FNB stadium.

Kingdom Osayi 7.0: Could do nothing with the goal conceded but pulled a good save to keep the score 1-0. Little to do in the first half but confident and has the ability to use his feet.

Kenneth Ssemakula 6.0: Struggled as a wingback in the first half but looked better when he slotted at the right of the back three. Made a decent block to deny the Leopards from taking a 2-0 lead.

Toto Majub 6.0: Showed his versatility by playing at the left of the back three. Sold until he was replaced by Lubangakene.

Tobby Ssibbick 6.5: Started as the right centre back of the three before he drifted in the middle when debutant Debohi went off injured. Decent.

Debohi Gaucho 6.0: Not a bad debut for the centre back who played central of the back three until he got injured midway the second half.

Souleymane Diaby 5.0: Didn’t show much as a wing forward on the left as he struggled to impose himself on the game and rarely helped out the side defensively.

Alhassan Baba 6.0: Won a number of duels as the anchorman but his passing ought to improve.

Abdoulaye Sissako 7.5: Unlucky not to bag another assist, a replica of the first game when Arnold Vula shot just wide of goal. Keeps the ball ticking over nicely but was slow in reaction on a number of times including in the lead up to the DR Congo goal.

Sadam Masereka 5.0: Always looked like a threat in possession with his pace and skills but the final ball was lacking.

Kevin Boateng 6.0: Always willing to pick ball from deep but got no chance to show his predatory instincts.

Arnold Vula 5.0: Should have done better with a second half chance after being played on goal by Sissako. Improved and better hold up play though than in game against Libya.

Substitutes

Geoffrey Lubangakene 5.0: Unfortunately saw his pass intercepted for DR Congo after replacing Majub but always willing to play from behind.

Gavin Kizito 5.0: Replaced Debohi but moved up as the wing back and had some good passes forward.

Travis Mutyaba 5.0: Helped out defensively often than he would love to take the ball forward.

James Bogere 8.0: Showed his predatory instincts with a decent run, shot and finish to draw the game level in the 90th minute. Continues to stake his claim for a starting berth despite his young age.

Denis Omedi 6.5: Cleverly won the ball and set up Bogere neatly after replacing Vula.

Head coach – Paul Put 8.0: Over the whole extended international break, Put organised side into a unit hard to play through and it was no different again despite deploying different individuals. Kudos.
