10,000 metres athlete Moses Kibet is breathing with confidence as he will make his third appearance at the 15th IAAF World Championships in Beijing, China from August 22-30.

“The preparations we have done have been very adequate and we want to return victorious with medals for our country,” Kibet stressed at the official flag of of the team that is made of 10 male and one woman athletics team today at National Council of Sports. “We shall battle as a group and we are ready to challenge the Kenyan, Ethiopian athletes.”

Kibet, will be making his debut in the 10,000 metres and will run alongside his compatriots Joshua Cheptegei and Timothy Toroitich. Uganda’s team is led by captain of the team Stephen Kiprotich, who will be vying to retain his gold medal that he won in Russia in 2013 in the Marathon while the deputy captain on the team is Juliet Chekwel others on the team include Benjamin Kiplagat, Phillip Kipyego, Jackson Kiprop, Ronald Musagala, Solomon Mutai, and Abraham Kiplimo.

Kiprotich sounded similar in his prospects “We are soldiers going on a mission that we can accomplish and we go very confident for this championships,” Kiprotich said confidently. “I have been training for three months in Kaptagat, Eldoret and I believe we are ready to battle all the reknown athletes we shall meet from Kenya, Ethiopia, Japan, Morocco, Algeria and China.”

Kiprotich, will get straight into action when he races in the Men’s final of the Marathon on August 22.
