The world’s Woodball governing body, International Woodball Federation (IWbF) has tasked Uganda with the mandate to help spread the game across the mountains and valleys of Africa.

The IWbF president, Ming Hui Weng tasked Paul Mark Kayongo, President of UWbF to spread the game with the official endorsement;

Kayongo expressed the interests in carrying the mandate to spread the Woodball in Africa and we have signed an agreement with me during the 2015 Committee Meetings of International Woodball Federation in Thailand this March. We are here to entrust him with this important position to make Woodball bigger and stronger in Africa.

In the MoU, IWbF promised to fund each trip in addition to donating equipment to the newly formed Federation/Association.

50 sets of equipment produced by Uganda Woodball Federation will be distributed every year with an option of getting more from the International body.

Kayongo highlights of the development thus far;

UWbF has so far contacted 27 National University Sports Federations (NUSF) on the continent; Tanzania and Zimbabwe have responded. We are readying a team of facilitators to carry out the first workshops in September.

Uganda Woodball Federation has constituted a committee headed by John Bosco Kaddu and Hannington Musoke to lay strategies to spread the sport to Africa.
