Ugandan goalkeeper Denis Onyango’s Mamelodi Sundowns were defeated 2-1 in the Absa Premiership by Golden Arrows on Saturday at the Chatsworth Stadium.

Golden Arrow’s Ryan Chapman netted the home side’s late winner as the team took home three points to mark a successful match day four in the new season.

Arrows showed intent from the start earning an early penalty opportunity after Onyango brought down striker Mabhuti Khenyeza in the area.

Mabhuti made no mistake sending the keeper the wrong way to grab the lead as the home fans celebrated the goal wildly.

Sundowns came close in the 23rd minute, but the Teko Modise blasted over the crossbar to deny the visitors leaving Arrows’ keeper Philani Zikalala in chill moods.

Second half got a little bit better for Onyango’s colleagues and it was substitute Themba Zwane who camly placed the ball past the goal line off Khama Billiat’s cross from the left.

Onyango failed to save substitute Ryan Chapman’s powerful low strike later on and Arrows were back in the lead once again in the 71st minute.

More damage ought to have happened to scores in favor of Arrows in the 82nd minute but substitute Mwape Musonda failed to connect Nkyanyiso’s cross from the right wing. Arrows held on to go home with a much needed win over Pitso Mosimane’s side.
