2015 CECAFA host nation, Ethiopia finished third overall following a 5-4 victory via the spot kicks over 2013 losing finalists, Sudan after normal time had ended one all.
Tournament Most Valuable Player, Eliyas Mamo opened the scoring in the 56th minute before second half substitute Walaaeldin Yagoub replied for Sudan in the 82nd minute past goalkeeper, Yidnekachew Kidane to force the game into penalties.
Ethiopian team captain, Gathuoch Panom who missed his kick in the semi finals against Uganda was this time spot on.
He was joined by Behailu Girma, Addisu Tesfaye,Eliyas Mamo and Yissak Bereket.
Tournament top scorer, Atahir Babikir had his kick saved to send the hosts into celebrations for the $10,000 prize tag and bronze medals.
Ethiopia finished second runners up behind Rwanda and eventual winners Uganda, who claimed their 14th crown.
