Lweza Vs Vipers SC – Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku @ 4pm

Lweza FC sits eight slots below Vipers SC but that doesn’t deter their players and coaches from believing they can shock the champions.

Ahead of the their league clash on Tuesday afternoon at Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku, ex-Vipers stars Juma Balinya, Emmanuel Kalyowa as well as Ayub Kisaliita have vowed to punish their former bosses.

Speaking to Kawowo Sports, Balinya; a January acquisition for the Oranje said Lweza is now a changed side after making recruitments.

“We are much changed a side from the first round after new additions and we are confident of beating anyone,” he said. “As a former Vipers’ player, the onus will be to show how much I can still offer. I know most of their players, their playing style and the like and the target will be maximum points although we can only talk about the result after the game,” he added.

For Kalyowa; another January signing from Express FC, the target is to lift the team from relegation fighters to top five.

“Our target is to finish in the top five and to achieve that, we have to pick points. Vipers will be favourites going into the game but we are ready to fight for maximum points. The fans should expect a good show.”

The Oranje beat Maroons 2-0 on Saturday and Coach Joseph Mutyaba want to build on that morale boosting win.

“We want to build on the win against Maroons. We are aware of the threat and quality they possess but we are not bad either. We are not safe from relegation monster at the moment and so we have to fight for every point. They shouldn’t expect an easy game against us.”

On the other hand, reigning champions Vipers assistant coach Edward Golola is optimistic that his side will pick maximum points if they play according to the game plan.

“The boys responded well against Sadolin Paints,” he started. “Lweza is a different game altogether but if we play according to plan, there is no way we shall fail to pick maximum points.”

Erisa Ssekisambu who has so far netted eight league goals this campaign is aware of the rivalry between the two sides but believes Vipers is the better side.

“We are neighbours and that brings out the rivalry. Nevertheless, we are the better side as the team reflects and we hope to reflect same despite playing away from home.”

Vipers will close the gap at the top to a single point with victory while Lweza has a chance to move to top ten if the pick maximum points.
