Not even a resounding 2-1 victory over champions Vipers can get Lweza carried away at least according to assistant coach Hamza Kalanzi.

The Oranje were dominant and fully deserved maximum points as goals from veterans Sula Bagala and Geoffrey Sserunkuma turned Erisa Ssekisambu’s equaliser into consolation.

Speaking after the game, Kalanzi said the victory doesn’t mean so much since it doesn’t guarantee safety from the drop.

“It does not mean much (victory) because the third placed team was only seven points ahead of us so no one is safe,” he said. “Yes, it’s a good win but can only be if we collect more points that will keep us afloat. For now, the fight for survival is still on,” he added.

Kalanzi was however delighted his boys performed according to plan although he faults them for missing so many chances.

We could have won by a bigger margin but that’s football. Inexperience had its effect in the opening moments but at least it worked since we wanted the young boys to play at high tempo to tire the opponent before introduction of experienced players that finished off the game.

Lweza moved to 10th on the log with 25 points but are just ten points adrift of log leaders KCCA with 12 games to play.
