Uganda’s Hamza Olema has left the Sudanese premier league club, Merriekh Kostic just after seven games by mutual consent.
A visibly disappointed Olema cites non-payment of salaries and wages as well as being accorded limited playing time for his sudden and shocking departure.
Olema failed to stamp authority on the team since his bitter January 2016 transfer from South Sudan champions, Atlabara Football club.
In the seven games played, he has started one and the six used as a late substitute.
He has since returned to Kampala at his Nsambya base.
He intimated his plight to Kawowo Sports;
“The club (Merriekh Kostic) failed to clear my outstanding dues. First they had given all my sign on fee to my former club (Atlabara F.C). Then, I had a problem with the head coach who was not using me. So I decided to leave the club in good faith”
Since joining Merriekh Kostic in January 2016, Olema had only made one start under coach Ahmed Musiimu, against Al Sheddy F.C.
The other six games were late introductions, a feat that has never gone down with the diminutive, dribbling and winger.
“I wrote to the club president expressing my disappointment. It was sad that my payments were not being delivered despite endless promises. Within weeks, my cry was answered when the club secretary (Ahmed Issa) penned down the termination of contract letter and I had to depart for Uganda” he added.
Merriekh Kostic F.C is currently eighth on the 18 team log.
At the moment, Olema is contemplating on three moves that involves moving to his former club, Atlabara F.C in South Sudan, Al Sheddy in Sudan premiership or Adama City in the Ethiopian premier league.
The three clubs have openly expressed interest in the player whose quick change of pace on the flanks leaves many defenders stranded.
