Uganda Cranes’ player Micheal Azira was part of Colorado Rapids outfit that overcame New York Red Bulls 2-1 at a snowy Dick’s Sporting Goods Park on Saturday night.
Azira completed the match as his colleagues jointly secured a win, amid falling snow to seal their second successive victory.
Jermaine Jones, playing in his first game after a six-match suspension, slotted home from Mekeil Williams’ cross midway through the first half.
Jones later played provider in the 82nd minute, sliding a well-weighted ball that Dominique Badji nailed home for the winner.
New York snapped a 337-minute long scoring drought in the 60th minute, when Ronald Zubar headed home a Sacha Kljestan cross at the back post.
Elsewhere, Didier Drogba’s Montreal Impact moved back to the top of the MLS Eastern Conference after their 2-1 win over the Chicago Fire.
The Chelsea great scored a well-taken flick to level the scores after Kennedy Igboananike gave the Fire a half-time lead with his goal in the 29th minute.
