Event: African Women Volleyball Club Championship
Where: Tunisia
When: April 20-May 1
Holders: Al Ahly (Egypt)
Record winners: Kenya Pipeline (Seven)

At 22:00hrs (EAT) on Thursday, Ndejje Elites will touch base in Tunisia for their third appearance at the African Women Club Championship.

Despite having quite a number of novices on his team, coach Johnson Kawenyera hasn’t stopped hoping that his side have what it takes to put up a show to remember.

An improved show than what they managed in 2013 at the Antananarivo games in Madagascar. Then Ndejje finished eighth overall as Kenya Prisons claimed the ultimate price.

Kawenyera said ahead of the team’s departure on Tuesday morning;

We have a team strong enough to put up some resistance and competition. We have set a semifinal finish as our target and it’s achievable.

This is a stage where a bigger part of my team have been, and like I have said in the past, they should help these others fit in and be able to perform.

Veronica Aanyu, Emma Mwangi, Sharon Amito, Joan Tushemeirewe, Kurtha Kagoya and Keren Nyakecho are all novices at this stage.

Skipper Belindah Jepkirui and her assistant Christine Alupo, together with Winnie Nakabuubi, Margaret Namyalo, Maureen Mwamula and Saidat Nnungi should be able to help the first timers fit in.
