10th AMACO international Volleyball Tournament:
- 13th – 15th May 2016 – Eldoret, Kenya
Ugandan volleyball side, Nemostars eyes the top honours as the 10th edition of the Paul Bitok/AMACO International Volleyball Cup spikes off in Eldoret today.
After winning bronze at the Rwanda Genocide Memorial Tournament and finishing 17th overall out of 24 teams at the 34th edition of the African Volleyball Club Championship, a top place finish for Nemostars in Kenya is the intended target, according to Nemostars coach, Andrew Okapis.
Exposure aside, winning is the other agenda as we head to Kenya
Over 50 teams from the East African region are expected to compete at the annual tournament.
The winner of the tournament will bag Shs3m while the second and the third will bag Shs1.6m and Shs800,000 in both the men and women categories.
The AMACO International Volleyball tournament also has a Junior category for schools where the winners will be awarded balls and nets in boys and girls category.
Meanwhile, Rwanda’s Kirehe Volleyball Club pulled out of the tourney due to a congested schedule according to their head coach Pierre Marshal Kwizera.
