The Uganda Lady Cranes sevens team could be Italy-bound in the summer following an invitation to feature in this year’s Roma Sevens.

Uganda women rugby governing body (UWRA) secretary, Hellen Buteme revealed the news, adding, it could be a chance to gain more experience for the side.

“We were invited to Roma 7s and I think it is a great opportunity for our team to get exposure since we are to play world class teams,” Buteme told New Vision.

“Our focus is to raise the money to see that we honour the invitation.”

16 players have been summoned: Hildah Nyiraguhirwa, Peace Mirembe from Entebbe Sharks, Auma, Emmanuella Oroma, Gilder Inzikuru, Peace Wokorach of Walukuba Titans, Samiya Ayikoru,Phionah Nalubwama, Aisha Nakityo,Irene Nzige, Harriet Kayonjo from Thunderbirds, Charlotte Mudoola, Brenda Kayiyi and Claire Anena playing for Black Panthers.
