Kawowo Sports’ David Isabirye was at the intimidating Green Light Arena and watched the match.

Here are the player ratings from the soldiers on either sides in the thick of action.

onduparakaXI

Onduparaka XI

Nathian Ajaib Legason (GK) – 8

The Onduparaka goalkeeper was one of the top players for Onduparaka on the day.

He made routine collections off all aerial balls played in, was excellent at commanding the defence and saved the team on three different occasions when taken on the break.

 Sabir Simba – 7

Good defensively and going forward. Frustrated winger Innocent Hasashya throughout the game

 Rashid Per Toha – 8

The towering Germany born in Uganda was at his usual best. Often passing the ball out of defence with calmness.

He battled well in the air with Entebbe’s tall striker, Roch Somoka.

Toha had a headed attempt at the opposition goal off a curling corner from Gadihno Gaddafi.

 Gasper – 7.5

Another key figure in the Onduparaka defence. He excelled at game reading

 Anini – 7

His partnership with Toha was superb. He has mastered the art of building patient play from the backline.

 Gadaffi Alcantara Wahabu – 7.5

Was largely troubled by body fatigue having passed a late fitness test to feature in the game.

Koko – 7

Had a silent first half but recovered to play well in the subsequent stanza of the game.

His battle with Godfrey Sserubogo was as eye catching as the eclipse of the sun.

Ceaser Olega – 7

Like Koko, he was silent at most times but dangerous on the break.

Had a far much better improved second 45 minutes than the first half.

 Muhammed ‘Jaggarson’ Shaban – 9

Top overall performer on the day. Quick on the ball with great surprising off the shoulder runs.

He grabbed a well taken brace on the day he would have capped a memorable hat-trick.

He also led his troops like a typical captain – often offering the lead that necessary leadership.

 Gaddafi Gadihno – 8.5

Second best performer on the day. Created the second goal for Muhammed Shaban and was on target too. A master of the short crispy passes with occasional surprising diagonal balls to the flanks

 Rashid Agau – 7.5

Hardworking as usual, Agau’s game has continued to grow day after day.

He released Shaban for the opening goal, won lots of balls in the middle of the pack and smiled home with a great goal, the final nail in the coffin of Entebbe Football club.

entebbeXI

Entebbe F.C XI

Steve Tabu (G.K) – 6.5

He was the best player for Entebbe before suffering a simple fracture on the right arm at the beginning of the second half.

Had disappointed the Onduparaka forwards with great stops and excellent command of the backline.

Gospel Magenyi – 4.5

Played well defensively in the opening 45 minutes but lost steam in the second half.

 Abraham Pengere – 5

Another top performer for the visitors. Battled well with Muhammed Shaban in the early stages of the game.

 Philly Lutaaya – 4.5

Offered the team numbers in attack, was good at marking but a lapse in concentration cost the team dearest.

tabu injury

Onduparaka medical personnel in typical sporting spirit assisted the Entebbe goalie, Steve Tabu  who fractured his right arm

 Sande Mukiibi (Captain) – 5.5

As a team skipper, Mukiibi commanded his charges throughout the game.

His philosophy of patient building of play from the backline paid fruits – though only for 45 minutes.

Was good defensively at left back.

Richard Kalema 4.5

Had a quite a silent day at office. The positive aspect is that he battled well for possession with Gaddafi Wahabu and Gadaffi Gadihno, winning most 50-50 challenges.

 Innocent Hasashya – 3.5

A disappointing game for the winger who has always promised a lot in terms of going forward.

Against Onduparaka, the final ball was wanting.

Nicodemus Lekesit – 4

Average performance. He fought gallantly with Koko.

Godfrey Kana – 4

Kana offered Entebbe the numbers in midfield but reacted slowly for most balls won.

 Godfrey Sserubogo – 4

He was pocketed easily by the intelligent brains of Rashid Toha and Simba.

Could have done better had he concentrated on the art of efficient shooting at goal.

 Roch Peter Somoka – 4.5

Offered Entebbe the crucial aerial frame to fight for the crossed in balls from the flanks.

With a sublime first touch on the ball, Somoka could have done better to possess the ball.

Sadly, he was easily dispossessed by the man on business – Per Toha.
