The Uganda Rugby Cranes may have lost 38-13 to the Free State U-21 side on Wednesday but they will be a much improved side when the Tier 1A engagements get underway early next month.
Head coach Robert Sseguya is confident the team is picking lots of lessons from their 12-day camp in South Africa and expects much better displays than what the nation witnessed the last time the team played.
“We are getting better every other day and I am happy with the team,” Sseguya told Kawowo Sports Thursday afternoon. “We are learning and Ugandans should just watch the space,” he added.
The team will return from South Africa on Monday and continue with preparations for their first Tier 1A game against Namibia at Legends Rugby Grounds on 2nd July.
Marvin Odong is the most notable addition to the team that was clobbered 48-10 by the Kenya Simbas at Legends two weeks ago while Brian Asaba is still out with a shoulder injury.
Uganda will start with a home tie against Namibia before playing Zimbabwe in Harare.
The last game will see Uganda travel to Kenya for a game that will act both as a Tier 1A and Elgon Cup second leg encounter.
