Kampala Amateur Volleyball Club will hold the 20th Edition of the KAVC International Tournament on the weekend of August 6-7 and the organisers have promised a bigger and better event this time round.
More money is expected to be pumped into the event while more teams from across the boarders are also expected to make appearances.
Often, teams have been invited and failed to turn up but this time round, the organisers are confident there will be more foreign teams than those that turned up last year.
“More teams from outside Uganda have committed to come for the tournament and the competition will surely be much tougher this time round, “ KAVC Publicist, Cissy Musime told Kawowo Sports.
Over twenty foreign teams have been invited to give a chance to some Ugandan teams that can’t make it to international events whenever they are invited.
“It is a chance for some of the Ugandan teams that never get to play at international level and hopefully they will put up a good show,” Musime added.
Last year’s edition saw Rwandan sides run away with both the men’s and women’s titles.
INATEK defeated Sport -S 3-1 to lift the men’s crown while Rwanda Revenue Authority eased past Ndejje Elites with the same score to defend the ladies’ title.
