Vipers’ new acquisition Musa Esenu dedicated the Fans’ Player of the Year award to his former coach Charles Ayeikho before thanking the fans for voting for him
The 21 year old picked his accolade at the Uganda Premier League Awards ceremony held at Serena Hotel on Friday following his spectacular debut season.
Esenu who joined the 2014/15 league champions two days before the awards ceremony scored eight goals for Soana as he helped lead his former side to a seventh finish in the league and a quarter final finish in the Uganda Cup last season.
“I want to dedicate this special award to my coach Ayeikho,” Esenu, a former MUBS striker told Kawowo Sports.
“I’m where I’m because of him. He gave me all the advice I needed, always told me to work hard and always pushed me right from my days at MUBS.
“I also want to thank the fans who voted for me. This means a lot to me.”
The striker was also nominated in the Young Player of the Year category and was favorite to claim the gong but was beaten to it by defender Halid Lwaliwa.
