KCCA Vs The Saints – Phillip Omondi stadium, Lugogo @ 4.30pm
KCCA will be desperate to prove the 2-1 loss to Onduparaka on their last day out was a one off when they host The Saints at Lugogo on Tuesday.
The Kasasiro saw their 100% to the league crippled thanks to a brace from Muhammad Shaban but as they take on The Saints, assistant manager Morley Byekwaso is wary of their defensive organisation.
The ex-KCCA and SC Villa midfielder in a brief interview with Kawowo Sports revealed that their opponents are hard to break but defensively but remained optimistic the Lugogo attacking prowess will preside.
“First, the game against The Saints provides a good opportunity to show that the loss against Onduparaka was just a blip,” he said. “They are organised defensively and hard to break but we have the attacking prowess to break them down,” he added.
Byekwaso whose most previous coaching role was at Bombo with Simba, that bought The Saints also earmarked some players that he thinks will give the hosts hard time.
“They have some good players in Fred (Agandu), Joseph (Otieno), Dennis (Sekitoleko) and Rogers (Aloro).”
The champions will miss the services of defender cum midfielder Lawrence Kasadha and Martin Mpuuga due to injury but still have enough ammunition to choose from.
Like KCCA, Moses Basena’s side come into the game on the back of a slim 2-1 home loss to Express but the good news from Bombo is that they have no injury worries.
“All the boys are fine and ready to pick themselves up after that Express blip up,” he said.
The Saints have four points from as many games 12th on the 16 team table and have only scored three goals against five.
