Russia 2018 World Cup Qualifiers (Group B):

  • Algeria 1-1 Cameroon
  • Zambia 1-2 Nigeria

The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon held the Desert Foxes of Algeria to a 1-1 draw in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Sunday at the Stade Tchakert in Blida, about 50Km South West of the capital, Algiers.

Earlier in the day, the Nigeria Super Eagles had already taken the three points from Zambia in the other Group B game at the Levy Mwanawasa stadium in Ndola City.

That meant, Algeria, the overwhelming favourite of the group were looking to go level with a win.

They started the brighter side with the home crowd behind them and got an early goal through El Arabi Soudani by the 7th minute of the game.

Algeria continued to press while Cameroon also grew gradually into the game.

They were rewarded with an equaliser in the 24th minute through Benjamin Moukandjo.

Algeria did all they could for the winning goal but Cameroon held on for an important point.

Algeria travel to face Nigeria in the next match-day while Cameroon host Zambia.
