Busoga Masaza Football Tournament:

  • Finals: 29th October 2016 – Bukooli North Vs Bunha
  • At Kyabazinga Stadium, Bugembe – Jinja District

There is a building euphoric atmosphere as the 2016 Busoga Masaza football grand finale draws closer.

First, the tournament which has been being played for the first time ever attracted 14 teams, a number that the organizers deed fit towards fostering one of the tournament objectives – promoting unity.

On Tuesday, 11th October 2016, barely a fort night to the grand finals between Bukooli and Bunha counties, the tournament was boosted by an assortment of trophies, medals and balls to all the participating teams from City Tyres.

This was during the official handover ceremony of the donated items to a team of the organizing committee members from Busoga at the head offices of City Tyres on 6th street, Industrial Area in Kampala.

Herbert Basasha, who spoke on behalf of City Tyres expressed the urge for the company to further support the domestic sporting competitions in the country.

City Tyres has supported Buganda Masaza tournament, other football tournament and sporting events. We are now offering support to Busoga kingdom.

We have offered the medals, trophies and balls to each of the 14 teams that took part in the tournament.

We are committed to supporting the Busoga Masaza football tournament every time the event will be organized.

This is just the start of the long journey.

The Busoga Kingdom was represented by a formidable team of officials from the Kingdom led by Amin Bbosa Nkono, the Kingdom sports minister.

Bbosa expressed gratitude towards the timely assistance;

We approached City Tyres to support in the materials for rewarding the best and we are glad they have responded in the affirmative. We thank City Tyres so much with a promise to work closely with them over the years.

I call upon the masses to turn up in large numbers for the finals on 29th October 2016 where His Majesty, The Kyabazinga of Busoga William Wiberforce Nadiope IV will be the Chief Guest.

Bukooli will play Bunha in the final of this year’s tournament that will take place at the Kyabazinga stadium in Bugembe.

At the moment, Shaban Farouk of Butembe leads the goal scorers with four goals. Bunha’s Cosma Waiswa still has a chance to increase on his three goal’s tally in the final.
