8th Coral Coatings Woodball Open: 29th – 30th October 2016
At UCU main campus, Mukono
Ahead of the 8th Coral Coatings Woodball Open, there about 600 confirmed participants.
The two day event will commence on the 29th October and climax the following day at Uganda Christian University main campus in Mukono.
According to an official from the Uganda Woodball Federation, John Baptist Kateregga, the turn up so far is impressive with registration deadline set for the 25th October 2016.
Competition will be in primary, secondary, clubs and corporate categories.
Primary and Secondary schools will compete only on Saturday, October 29, 2016.
Corporates are to compete only on Sunday, October 30, 2016 starting at 1 pm.
Clubs/Universities will compete for 2 days; stroke competition on Saturday and Fairway competition on Sunday.
So far, there are 19 primary schools, 18 secondary, 16 clubs and 14 corporate teams that have confirmed with more entries expected by the the deadline time.
Coral Coatings Ltd injected UGX 15 million into this event.
This will be company’s 2nd year of sponsoring this event.
So far 593 participants are confirmed to participate.
The event has attracted many new teams including Kkungu Primary School, Mamita Primary School, Vision of Africa, Bombo Army S.S, Jinja S.S, Mt. St. Henry’s School, and Cipla QCIL.
Last year’s event was held at Kisubi Technical School, off Entebbe road.
The defending champions in each category are:
Primary: Entebbe Junior (Boys) & St Agnes (Girls)
Secondary: Airforce (Boys) & Kyambogo College (Girls)
Clubs/University: Ndejje University (Male & Female)
Corporate: St Joseph Technical Institute, Kisubi (Male) & Ndejje Corporate Club (Female)
