Uganda Cranes goalkeeping coach Fred Kajoba is one person who understands best the shot stopper, Dennis Onyango.
For close to a decade now, Kajoba has been the coach for Onyango and the two enjoy special relations and bonding.
Needless to mention, their affair is more than a father – son relationship.
Kajoba, himself a former Uganda Cranes international sings special praise of Onyango.
He is a key pillar to Uganda Cranes. You can not play a football match without a goalkeeper. He listens and he is respectful and obedient.
To me, I am not surprised that Onyango is at the top of his game.
He has worked hard and it is now showing. He is serious. He knows football is now his full time job and therefore respects the job.
Onyango was voted by CAF as the 2016 best footballer based on the continent, becoming the first goalkeeper to win the accolade since the awards inception 25 years ago.

Kajoba takes the opportunity to caution the other goalkeepers in the country to keep focused and work hard.
Even Onyango did not start at his prime. He started from somewhere. There are mistakes he made as a young man but he has gone over them and now a mature goalkeeper. Uganda is so proud to have him.
The young goalkeepers have a mountain task to undertake and emulate Onyango. We (Uganda) are lucky to have a pool of many talented goalkeepers.
They only have to work hard and follow the Onyango path. Goalkeeping also takes a lot of patience and diligence
The Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper was at the top of his game, with countless saves that saved Uganda from conceding a cricket score in the game against Ghana last Tuesday.
In fact, Andre Ayew’s penalty was all Ghana Black Stars needed to beat the goalie.
Onyango and Uganda Cranes return to action on Saturday night against Egypt at the Port Gentil Stadium.
