Charles Kabore is a great tackler

Burkina Faso national football team skipper, Charles Kabore will retire after the 31st Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.

Kabore will bring down the curtains on his playing career after an industrious 10 year epoch.

The hard tackling midfielder confirmed  Kawowo Sports;

I will retire officially after AFCON 2017. It has been a great experience playing for the Burkina Faso national team.

The 28-year-old was promoted to the national team aged 18, after an impressive performance with the under age teams.

Some of the senior players on the team Bakary Kone expressed gratitude to the services of the midfielder.

Kone told the media on Monday during the official pre-match press conference that Kabore will be missed but everyone needs to respect his personal decision.

He (Kabore) has been a great servant and team leader for the team over the years. We shall miss him but still, we need to respect his personal decision.

Kabore has previously played at local side Ouagadougou before he was captured by French side AS Libourne.

He then played at Olympic Marseille and Kuban Krasnodar before he switched allegiance to  F.C Krasnodar.

In the 10 years’ service with the Stallions, he has played 79 times, scoring 4 times.
