Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) Football Club has on Friday announced the appointment of James Kizza the a new club chairperson.

The development was confirmed through a press statement from the club CEO, Edward Kulubya, addressed to the FUFA CEO, Edgar Watson with the media, all the UPL clubs and secretariat copied in.

Kizza’s appointment comes at a time when the post was vacant after the appointment of former chairmen Ali Ssekatawa as the Director Legal and Corporate Affairs in the petroleum authority of Uganda.

Ssekatawa’s elevation meant he was illegible for the post of the club chairman as per the club constitution.

Following a URA board meeting of 6th February 2017, Ssekatawa thus stepped down as URA F.C chairman and the club approved the creation of the first and second vice chairmen.

Kizza is the chairman as well as the Club Director of Marketing as Ssekatawa was demoted to first vice chairman.

Moses Kibumba, who has previously been the vice chairman becomes the new second vice chairman.

David Isabirye is a senior staff writer for Kawowo Sports where he covers most of the major events.
