Lweza Football Club will attempt to put another nail in JMC Hippos’ coffin when the two sides meet in the Uganda Premier League on Saturday at Kakindu Stadium.

The side travels to Jinja off the back of an inspiring 2-2 draw with SC Villa last week. They came from 2 goals down to draw with the record league winners last Saturday making it their tenth draw of the season.

Lweza’s record from 18 league games this season reads three victories, nine draws and five defeats. They have found the back of the net eighteen times while letting in 21.

It has not quite been the season that the fans would have had in mind. With only 19 points amassed, the Oranje boys are not yet safe from relegation. Only three points separate them from Bul placed 14th in the league.

Victory tomorrow will see them register their first win in 2017.

The league table makes grim reading for JMC, who have not won any league game this term. A total of 6 points has left them rooted to the bottom and are 11 points from the safety of 13th position.

Escaping the bottom three is actually still achievable, but 11 defeats already this season suggest that it is almost an impossible task.

Seemingly only a miracle can stop JMC from dropping to the Big League. Victory however, this weekend could be the start of a recovery. They have not lost a game in 2017 having drawn all their two games.
