Three African football clubs, Zamalek (Egypt), Orlando Pirates (South Africa) and Hilal (Egypt) are interested in tempting coach Mulitin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic away from the Uganda Cranes.
According to reliable sources, Orlando Pirates were the first team to inquire about the availability of the Serbian who guided the Uganda Cranes to the Africa Cup of Nations in 2017 after 39 years.
Hilal joined the fray last week while Zamalek made the inquiry just this week as per sources Kawowo Sports has accessed.
When contacted on the interests, Micho confirmed everything but insisted he wants to honour his contract with FUFA and the Cranes.
“As per contract I have, I can’t apply for the job anywhere,” Micho exclusively told Kawowo Sports. “I can only be head hunted like it is at present by many interested parties; clubs and national teams,” he added.
If I apply I would breach contract and I am not doing since I am relaxed and enjoying my time working in Uganda without any desperation.
The former SC Villa and Rwanda national team coach has previously coached in South Africa and Sudan but never in Egypt.
He joined Uganda Cranes in May 2013, won the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup in 2015 and guided the team to two CHAN qualifications and the 2017 AFCON in Gabon.
