Ronald Sebuguzi and Leon Ssenyange are almost forgetting about their last season’s misfortunes after being awed by the National Rally Championship position after round two in Kabale.

Last weekend, Sebuguzi finished second overall to register his second successive podium.

“Whenever I intend to do an event, my target is always to fight for a win. Even in this event I desired a win but managed to get a second position,” explained Sebuguzi.

“The car was not at its best this weekend with gears not shifting well in some stages. But we are grateful we handled the situation to finish in a good position,” he added.

Sebuguzi remains in second position on the NRC standings with 150 points, 10 behind championship leader Duncan Mubiru.

“We plan to use the same strategy into the other events, maintaining the podium finishes throughout. We believe it will help our title battle,” he said.

Sebuguzi further attributed his weekend’s performance to fellow driver Andrew ‘Desh’ Kananura.

“I really want to thank Desh Kananura for his great help in this event. Our car developed a gear box problem a week to this event. He gave us his gear box to use since he was not going to drive.”

Sebuguzi will now have his focus turned to NRC 3 next month as he pursues a possible fourth national title.
