Sentah College School head coach, Robert ‘Kaka’ Kakanga remains optimistic his charges will perform to the expected standards as the Mbarara district qualifiers roll off this Wednesday across the different venues.
The former Entebbe Victoria, Ruhinda, Mbarara F.C, Mbale Heroes and Nkumba University stylish winger told Kawowo Sports that the ball lies in his court to help Sentah College progress to through the early stages of the qualifiers to the nationals.
We have a task at hand but prepared for it because we had adequate preparations. In fact, we are our own enemies.
Sentah College is in group A alongside Mbarara’s St Joseph’s and Rwampara based Laki Secondary school.
To progress to the district level, Sentah College were Zone D Champions having triumphed 3-1 over Mbarara College in the zonal finals.
Earlier, Sentah College had an easy ride in the group stages winning against Heritage and Mbarara S.S 3-0 and 9-0 respectively.
In the semi-finals, they overcame Alliance School 1-0.
Christened Kaka after the Brazilian midfielder, Kakanga will dwell upon the fine form of Ibrahim Dada Juma, Ali Rwakilembe, Aziz Kayondo and the ever fresh Hassan Fakie.
Kakanga expects a tough challenge;
It will not be a walk in the park. I expect challenges but my team is ready at all costs
Uthuman Nduhukire’s charges target a top two finish to progress to the Ankole regional qualifiers.
Other schools in contention include Bwizbwera based Welden, St Andrews, Mbarara High, Mbarara S.S, St Joseph’s, Kinoni and the historical Ntare school.
Only four schools will represent the Ankole region at the nationals that will be hosted in Masaka.
