Godfrey Wakaza’s injury time goal helped The Saints edge a 10-man JMC on Friday at the Champions Stadium, Mwererwe as they registered their second Uganda Premier League win in 2017.

After a goalless first half, The Saints broke the deadlock in the 46th minute through Julius Malingumu, but the visitors responded quickly with Gerald Kamya’s goal in the 50th minute.

It looked like the game was headed for stalemate, but with a few seconds to the final whistle, Wakaza came to the rescue of The Saints as he netted in added time.

The game saw JMC’s Walter Bankene red carded in the 68th minute.

Victory was The Saints’ first since beating Bul 2-0 in February.

The result coupled with Police’s 1-0 loss to Kirinya-Jinja SSS lifts The Saints up to tenth, above Bul who were out of action and dislodging Sadolin Paints who were also out of action.

The Saints are on 26 points now, although just three above Lweza placed 14th in the league standings.
