FUFA President Moses Magogo will live to remember the first five months of the year, 2017.
In January, he was the official head of delegation of the Uganda Cranes as the CECAFA giants returned to the biggest continental footballing fiesta – the Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon, after 39 years.
Two months later, he hosted the FIFA President Gianni Infantino, becoming the first seating FIFA President to visit Uganda.
In the same month, Magogo was key in the campaign that ousted long serving CAF President Isa Hayatou to usher in Madagascar’s Ahamd Ahamd.
Come May, during the CAF Extra Ordinary Assembly in Manama, Baharain, he was appointed to the CAF Executive Committee as a co-opted member (attends all meetings but no voting rights).
The latest development is the appointment to head the Futsal and Beach Soccer Committee at CAF as well as the Vice President of the Organizing Committee for Women’s Football on the continent.
All the appointments were confirmed at the Baharain congress that will culminate into the 67th FIFA Congress.

Uganda Beach Soccer Association (UBSA) chairman, Deo Mutabazi is full of praise for Magogo following the appointment, which he believes will benefit Uganda and the CECAFA Region as a whole.
Mr. Magogo’s appointment is not by accident. It is a manifestation for the great work he has taken to develop Beach Soccer and Futsal in Uganda and East Africa as a whole.
He has the ideas to steer Beach Soccer to greater heights in Africa, East Africa and Uganda his mother country.
I am excited for the appointment because I believe it will benefit Uganda as a country by way of exposing the talents, more capacity building and building a chain of further developing the game of Beach Soccer and Futsal

Meanwhile, Ghana’s Kwesi Nyantakyi and DRC’s Constant Omari Selemani were named 1st and 2nd Vice Presidents respectively.
Nigerian FA Boss Pinnick Amaju was appointed Chairman for two committees – Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and Media.
Former Zambian international Kalusha Bwalya will head the CAF Technical and Development Committee.
Horn of African Djibouti Football Association President Sulaiman Waberi is the new Referees Committee Chairman.
Former Africa footballer of the year and Zambian F.A boss, Kalusha Bwalya is Magogo’s vice president on the Futsal and Beach Soccer Committee.
