Zimbabwe made light work of visiting Liberia with a convincing 3-0 victory in the AFCON 2019 Group G qualifier at the National stadium in Harare on Sunday.
Striker Knowledge Musona was in scintillating form, scoring all the three goals of the one sided encounter.
The K.V. Oostende forward player in the Belgian Pro League scored in the 24th, 50th and 63rd minutes to record the first hat-trick of the campaign.
Zimbabwe leads Group G, followed by Democratic Republic of Congo.
Florent Ibenge’s side defeated rivals Congo 3-1 Complex Omnisports Stade Des Martyrs on Saturday.
Villarreal striker Cedric Bakambu scored a brace in the game. Bakambu got his first after 20 minutes before Osmanlıspor striker Thievy Bifouma found the equalizer on the stroke of half time.
Bakambu returned with his country’s and personal second goal 11 minutes into the second half.
Newcastle forward Chancel Mbemba wrapped up the business for DRC with the third goal at the death of the game.
Match day 2 will be played on 23rd March 2018.
Congo hosts Zimbabwe in Bangui as Liberia will be at home against DRC in Monorovia.
