As expected Nyakasura qualified as the top seed from the western region for the Schools Cricket Week.

Nyakasura that started playing in the Division 3 of the National League this season beat all its competition to the title.

Cricket in the Rwenzori Region has grown from the Primary School levels through the Secondary Cchools one of the reasons Ntare School has found it hard to qualify through this region.

Nyakasura will be joined by new comers Kilembe SS as the other team from the western region.

In the Central Region, Mukono SS beat Kyambogo SS in the final to win the central region title but both qualified for the schools final tournament. The central region enjoys more qualification slots because of the high number of cricket playing schools, thus the two finalists will be joined by Ndejje SS, Agakhan and Kololo SS.

The schools from the central will be joined by others from the East, South West and North Eastern part of the country whose qualifiers are still ongoing.

The finals of the schools cricket week will be played in the second term holidays.
