Bul returnee Patrick ‘Crespo’ Asiku says he cannot wait for the 2017-18 season to get underway.
The forward, who made his return to the club he’s hallowed and adored mid last month from Soana, believes Bul’s house is in order and that the club that renewed its relationship with Kefa Kisala following his appointment as head coach last month has savored the pre-season.
“I feel extremely happy and excited about the upcoming season,” Asiku said. “The club is on the right track. We secured one of the best coaches in the country so the club is going to be placed in a better position come this coming season.
“We are enjoying the pre-season and gelling in very well. I can’t wait for the season to start and pray that God will let me offer my services to the club promptly even better than before.
“I’m so happy with the fans. They always tell me ‘thank you for coming back’. I hope to repay that. I cant wait to put on the Bul FC shirt again in the league.
“My wish has always been that the team be in a better position or even challenge for the trophy. It is the team I support and love and I will work tirelessly to help the team achieve success.”
The Jinja outfit has been involved in three buildup games thus far. The side commenced their pre-season with a 3-1 win over Jinja Select, and followed it with a 7-0 humiliation of Iganga Young – a game in which Asiku scored the second goal – before playing out a barren draw against Jinja Best XI.
They have scored ten times and conceded just once in their pre-season. Such is the form that delights Asiku and he hopes it will be transferred to the league.
Bul will, however, have to contend with fellow Premier League side Police who come as a diverse opposition on Wednesday in their fourth friendly match at Kibuli playground.
