The Lady Cricket Cranes team for the T20 World Cup qualifiers has been named.

Jinja SS Wicketkeeper Kevin Awino has been named captain of the Lady Cranes in the absence of regular skipper Barbara Mukankusi who wasn’t available for selection due to maternity.

The soft spoken Awino will be tasked with helping the senior ladies qualify for the T20 World Cup as they battle other African nations in Namibia next month.

Coach Francis Otieno will have a chance to look at his ladies when they play in a buildup tour in Kenya next week against hosts Kenya and Rwanda.

Kevin Awino will be assisted by Wanderers’ Janet Mbabazi.
