Kenya looks likely to lose the hosting rights for the fifth edition of the Africa Nations Champions Championship (CHAN) finals due next year.

The East African nations are scheduled to host the 2018 even but the Confederation of African Football (CAF) remains reserved with major concerns on the readiness of the country.

The Confederation is set to send an inspection to the country on August 28 and from then, a decision will be made.

Reports already indicate CAF has alerted South Africa and Morocco to be ready to host the Biennial championship meant for players who play their trade in domestic leagues in case Kenya fails the readiness test.

In case to goes to South Africa, it will be second time the nation has stepped in to rescue after they also hosted Afcon 2013 after political crises forced original host Libya to relinquish their hosting rights while Morocco pulled out of hosting AFCON 2015 due to the Ebola crises.

The 2018 CHAN billed for Kenya comes off from January 11 to February 2, 2018.
