Uganda Cranes remain on course for qualification to the FIFA 2018 World Cup qualifiers following a 1-0 win against Egypt at Namboole.
Former SC Villa striker Emmanuel Okwi scored the only goal of the game in what remains arguably the best team effort ever win at Namboole.
But how did each player perform on the day?
Denis Onyango 9.0: Showed why he is currently the best African player on the continent with three match winning saves in the second half to deny the visitors. Besides, he gave his side belief and organised the backline so well.
Nicholas Wadada 6.0: A little panicky at the start but grew with the game. His decision making was also okay as he knew when to attack or kick the ball out.
Godfrey Walusimbi 7.5: A tough afternoon for the Gor Mahia man against Mohamed Salah but never fazed. Won a couple of duels against the Liverpool man and overall, a good performance.
Isaac Isinde 7.0: Marked a return to the national team with a good performance. Read the game well and won most of the aerial duels against the big Egyptians.
Jjuuko Murushid 7.5: Made the assist for the only goal of the game and was as hard as rock defensively. He offered no space to Pharaohs forwards and kept his calm even under pressure.
Hassan Wasswa 6.5: Offered brilliant cover to the backline and made a couple of brilliant passes including one that led to the corner from which Uganda Cranes scored.
Khalid Aucho 6.5: Not the best of performances from the midfielder by his standards as he was often over powered by Mohamed Elneny but still did well.
Emmanuel Okwi 8.5: He scored a good goal after beating a few Egyptian defenders in the area with an excellent piece of dribble. Denied twice by the legendary El Hadary and fully deserved his goal.
Farouk Miya 7.5: A lumbering first half performance made better in the second half. He won duels in the middle of the pack and never afraid to take men on when he had the ball. Much involved in the winning goal.
Joseph Ochaya 5.5 Combined well with Walusimbi on the left but his passing was often reckless. But did well to help Wazza defensively when Egypt attacked.
Derrick Nsibambi 7.0: Fantastic hold up play from the KCCA centre forward but bullied by the big West Bromwich defender Ahmad Hegazy. Lacked service but still tested El Hadary with a good header in the first half.
Substitutes
Luwagga Kizito 6.0: Replaced injured Farouk Miya midway the second half and helped hold the ball when Egypt constantly threatened.
Geoffrey Sserunkuma N/a
Isaac Muleme N/a
Moses Basena 8.0: He named a good team that had balance and often offered a listening ear to his assistants. Done enough to deserve a permanent deal? Why not? First Uganda Cranes win over the Pharaohs since 1965.
