Uganda’s Christakis Fitidis has thrown down the gauntlet to former Africa Rally Champion Muna Singh Sr as the two prepare to challenge in the Gomes Zambia International Rally due 21-22 October.
The two senior drivers entered a bet for the two-day rally with the stake – a dinner.
“We are in this sport to have fun. We look for all ways to enjoy it. Thats how we came up with the bet.
“I will challenge Muna in his own country. I know he is much younger and more stronger than me. But we shall battle and see who buys dinner after,” says Fitidis.
Fitidis; 65, is currently a regular driver with a Mitsubishi Evo X while Muna occasionally competes in the local rallies.
The 47-year-old Muna is already hooked in on the challenge.
“It’s a bet for the two old men. Fitidis is a good driver given his age. It will be nice to see what he can do here.
“Our events are more technical than anywhere. It’s more about driving skills than the car. But he is with no doubt a good driver. But am also ready for the challenge,” he said.

Fitidis will not only battle against Muna, but also against Kleevan Gomes and Giancarlo Davite on the ARC third position overall.
Over 35 crews will take part in the two-day events covering a total competitive distance of 183.80 kilometres.
It is the final rally in the 2017 Africa Rally Championship.
