Weatherhead will be up against Simba when they return to league action this Saturday after a month of non-involvement
Vincent Kasasa and his charges have not played a league game since losing 1-0 to title rivals KHC four weeks ago, and they find themselves placed third in the National Hockey League with 17 points, eight adrift of table leaders Wananchi.
Weatherhead will look to win tomorrow’s game, and they will also hope the ruling goes in their favour as they look to cut the point gap atop. It was alleged that KHC fielded an ineligible player against Weatherhead in their last encounter so KHC are expected to lose that game by forfeit.
Weatherhead come off the back a defeat to Wananchi in finals of the Independence Cup. The side lost 4-3 on penalties after a goalless draw in normal time, but they will be expected to see off Simba with great ease on Saturday.
Last time the two sides met, it was a no contest as Weatherhead ran riot with a 7-3 victory.
Simba who have hugely disappointed this campaign have only two victories to name. The side comes off a humiliating 3-2 defeat to bottom side Rockets. Rockets had not won a league game for over two years, but they were able to find their victory thanks to lackluster Simba.
Simba are now above Rockets by just three points.
