KCCA Football Club manager Mike Mutebi insists the back-to-back Uganda Premier League champions are not in a strange situation.
KCCA lost their first game of the season against SC Villa at Masaka Recreational Stadium on Saturday with Martin Kizza’s header turning Timothy Awany’s equalizer into a consolation.
The Lugogo based side slipped down the table but the man in charge at the club insists the campaign is not different from the last two in which they emerged champions.
“When you look back at the last two championships we have won, the events are a bit similar, dropping points but the opposition not taking the advantage,” Mutebi told the club website.
“We are lying sixth on the table, four points behind the leaders, a couple of good results will get us where we should be and am confident we shall get there, it’s just a matter of time.”
The Kasiro host relegation candidates Masavu in their next game on Saturday, November 4 at the StarTimes Stadium which presents a perfect opportunity to bounce back from SC Villa defeat.
“We must start winning games but at the same time playing with the right identity which we are trying to instill in the team and there is progress,” Mutebi stated.
The 12-time champions sit sixth on the table with 10 points, four behind leaders Onduparaka after seven games.
