Uganda Netball She Cranes captain Peace Proscovia has renewed her contract with Loughborough Lightening.
According to a statement released by the club, Peace is among the three club stars whose contracts were renewed for another one year;
Loughborough Lightning is pleased to announce that Loughborough University Students Peace Proscovia, Rosie Harris and Vicki Oyesola will return to the side for the 2018 season.
The impressive trio are all currently balancing their studies and training programmes with great success, featuring in the BUCS (British Universities and Colleges Sport) team that took Gold at the end of 2016-17 season before going to on be crowned British Fast 5 All-Stars champions in September 2017.
Peace is currently studying for a Masters in Marketing at the University. She will begin the second year of her two-year deal, and fourth season with the side, after a stellar campaign in 2017 which saw her scoop three accolades for her performance.
Peace was top scorer of the 2017 league with 812 goals, winning the VNSL Players’ Player of the Season and the Vitality Player of the Season as well as being included in the VNSL All Star VII for her efforts.
As quoted by the club website, Peace expressed her happiness;
I am delighted to be part of Loughborough Lightning for the 2018 season having had the best experience of my career so far with Lightning in the previous seasons.
I can’t wait to start the league with the rest of the squad.
The new incoming head coach Anna Carter, too, is glad for the return of the stars;
I am delighted that we have three very talented players from the Loughborough University 2017 BUCS Champions team who re-join our Loughborough Lightning NSL squad for 2018.
The University netball programme is exceptional and to see both Peace and Vicki using this as a platform to also represent their country is testament to the quality of that programme.
Rosie Harris is a young talented midcourt player who has shown real improvements in the last twelve months after benefiting from the high performance environment at Loughborough.
She has a real ambition to impact this season and I am confident she will do. I am really excited about working with all these players this season.

The trio will join England Roses stars Beth Cobden, Natalie Panagarry, Hannah Joseph and Ella Clark who have all committed to the Loughborough University franchise for 2018, alongside Jamaican defender Shamera Sterling who joins the side for the first time.
Lightning will be hoping to build on a brilliant 2017 where they were Grand Finalists and Fast5 champions.
Peace and the rest of her teammates will open up against Team Northumbria on Saturday, 10th December 2017.
