Striker George Senkaaba scored a beauty for Sports Club Villa Jogoo past Onduparaka at the Masaka Recreational Stadium on Tuesday.

Senkaaba reacted faster to pounce home past goalkeeper Nicholas Ssebwato after Godfrey Lwesibawa’s well set header after 67 minutes of the well attended game.

Prior to the game, the home team had proved the better side with a couple of half chances created.

Lwesibawa would have given the Jogoos the lead onto 10 minutes but watched on in disbelief after his volley on the turn missed target.

The Catarpillar’s midfielder Gadafi Gadhino tested and teased the Jogoos’ goalkeeper Samson Kirya from distance with a long range shot.

The effort left Kirya injured after he hit his back onto the goal post.

Bernard Muwanga had a rare chance to score when he headed straight to Ssebwato off Lwesibawa’s cross from the right with two minutes to the mandatory half time break.

The returning Vitalis Tabu also had a free header a minute to half time.

Villa lost midfielder Nicholas Kasozi to injury as his place was taken by Martin Kizza as the second half started.

The home team remained dominant thus far. Ssebwato cleared off the line Senkaaba’s header from Musa Mukasa’s cross.

On the hour mark, Yubu Bogere replaced the tired Tabu before Ramathan Dudu came on for midfielder Abel Eturude in Villa’s changes.

Onduparaka on the other hand introduced Living Kabon for Ceaser Okhuti, Alfred Leku paved way for Karim Ndugwa and tennager Ezra Bidda replaced left winger Viane Ssekajugo.

SC Villa gets to third place on 22 points, same as KCCA who eased 3-1 past Vipers at Lugogo.

Meanwhile Police won 1-0 at Express courtesy of Hood Kaweesa’s second half goal.

SC Villa Jogoo now heads to the derby game against Express on Friday.

Police now has 23 points.

The next game for SC Villa Jogoo will still be at home against arch rivals, Express.
