The name Pius ‘TZ Iniesta’ Obuya necessitates a bold introduction.
Obuya, 19, is a graduate from the national youth teams; U-17 team (The Cubs), currently playing for the U-20 team (Hippos).

The lethal left footed gem has ignited life into the Maroons Football Club team since the first half of the season with defense splitters, wall and square passes, fancy drills as well as odd attempts at goal.
With a couple of minutes to his name in the top flight league, Obuya has continued to ascend the ladder of development.
For the umpteenth time in the Uganda Premier League, Obuya’s individual brilliance has elevated Maroons.

Most recently, Obuya was a class act when the Prisons run side visited Lugogo to face Proline.
With Maxwell Okello’s penalty separating the two sides in the one all draw for Asaph Mwebaze’s charges, Obuya was signaled out for his overall contribution in the game proper, winning the Fortebet man of the match accolade.

In an exclusive interview with Kawowo Sports, the press shy talented gem attributed the team victory to sheer blessings from God, the overwhelming effort of his teammates, technical staff and the undying fans courage.
I thank God for everything He has done for me.
With the blessings I have, it is none than God. I also thank my parents for the encouragement, teammates, technical staff and our dear fans.
Obuya’s superb combo with teammates as Solomon Walusimbi, Felix Okot, Musa Ssali, Ronald Orombi, the orthodox center forward Sydney Chika among others.
Maroons’ victory against Proline was their 5th in 18 matches, which shot them to 5th place on 26 points, same as 4th place Onduparaka.
