The Rugby World Cup Sevens 2018 official match ball design details have been revealed by governing body World Rugby on Tuesday.

Alongside designers – Gilbert, the ball was launched, ready for use at the summer showpiece in San Francisco, California.
The ball has been developed exclusively for the high-octane, featuring the patented Synergie XV-6 grip that offers an enhanced grip ideally suited to the fast-paced nature and handling of rugby sevens.
The multi-colored art showcases the iconic Golden Gate Bridge and a star visual that represents the gathering of the world’s top players in the ‘golden city’.
World Rugby Chairman Bill Beaumont talked up World Rugby’s partnership with the designers.
“We are delighted to be partnering with Gilbert for Rugby World Cup Sevens 2018 in San Francisco.
“Their passion for innovation and performance as a field leader is perfectly suited to a tournament that will drive performance and fan experience innovation.
“The ball looks great and will enable the world’s top sevens players to showcase their talent on the biggest stage. I am sure it will also prove popular with fans.”
The Rugby World Cup Sevens get underway 20-22 July. The Zimbabwe Cheetahs, Kenya, Uganda and South Africa will be the four African countries that will feature in the tournament.
