Ruth Meme has been named in She Cranes team set to compete at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia.

The Center player who is equally comfortable as a Wing Attack returns to the team after missing last year’s Africa Netball Championship and will direct the team’s attack along with Halima Nakacwa who played the role at the continental tournament.

Joan Nampungu, who captained the U-21 side – She Pearls – at the 2017 Youth World Cup in Botswana, has graduated to the senior team.

Also on the team is Goal Keeper Muhayimina Namuwaya, Goal Attack Rachael Nayonga who along with Stella Oyera and Hadijah Nakbuye are expected to supplement star Goal Shooter and team captain Peace Proscovia.

Uganda will face New Zealand, England, Scotland, Wales and Malawi in the preliminary (group) stage of the competition and have to finish among the top two in the group to have a chance of playing for the medals.

The games will be played in Coomera Indoor Sports Center at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.
