Spain-Uganda Showcase:

  • 4th Match: Uganda Select (Team Fundi) 5-3 American Soccer University

Uganda Select football side (Team Fundi) concluded their 10-day show case in Spain with a 5-3 win over the America Soccer University.

On fire Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) forward Sadat Happy Anaku continued with his blazing form, scoring a hat-trick on the day.

Teammate Julius Poloto and Proline’s Hakim Kiwanuka added the other two goals for the Ugandan youngsters coached by Turkish coach Omer Selli and Richard Malinga.

This was the second victory for the Ugandans over the same opposition following an earlier 8-1 victory at the camp De Finestrat in Alicante province.

Anaku scored four goals during the 8-1 win with the other four goals coming from Erick Ssenjobe (Police), Alpha Thierry Ssali (Proline), Raymond Derrick Onyai (Kataka) and Ivan Ocholit (Proline).

The 5-3 win marked the end of the show-case. In the other matches, Team Fundi recorded a 1-0 win over Atlético Benidorm Club Deportivo before a 2-1 slip to Club de Fútbol La Nucía.

The Spain-Uganda showcase arrangement was organized by Festo Web sports management in conjunction with Glasman International.

This trip was exclusively funded by the Government of Uganda in support with the Uganda Tourism Board (UTB), Parliament of Uganda, Tororo Cement Limited, Lake Victoria Serena Hotel and Ministry of Health.
