Amus College School Bukedea is not only a force in education, but also in sports, music, dance and drama.

A student’s life has different paddocks to attain the ultimate goal of excelling academically and elsewhere in various spheres of life as sports, music, dance, drama, art, fashion, among others.

To achieve good grades at school, a student has to sacrifice a lot in his or her life to regularily attend classes, pay keen attention to details, execute constant revisions, actively participate in discussions, conduct mock tests and exams as well remain disciplined to the dot.

Amus College School Bukedea is one institution that is preparing the students to excel academically and in sports participating in football, volleyball, netball, athletics and other games.

Since the school’s inception 10 years ago, the Ordinary level and Advanced levels of education examinations for the year 2023 have been outstanding.

For the recently released A-Level examinations, Amus College School had a record number of students with maximum points good enough for securing slots to the university on full Government sponsorship.

Those with 20 points included; Miriam Apio (MEG-ICT), Milton Alex Kedi (PEM-ICT), Isaac Magino (PEM-ICT), Andrew Opio (PEM-ICT), Chris Wayambuka Kibuuka (PEM-ICT), Florence Asekenye (PEM-ICT), Harunah Ijokei (PEM-ICT), Ambrose Nabende Kimeche (PEM-ICT), Latif Mutyaba (PCM-ICT) and Job Opule (HEG-ICT).

Nicholas Atunyo (MEG/ICT) scored a total of 19 points with 4A A B 2.

The school head teacher Richard Olupot is delighted about the performance of the school, lauding the students, parents, teachers and non-teaching staff, board of governors and director for the collective effort for such a performance.

He cites a number of factors for such a star performance as the conducive learning environment, brave effort of students and teachers and team work effort from the entire school management.

“This has been a great performance and i want to thank all the factors at play from management of the school, teachers, parents, non-teaching staff to the students themselves. We shall aim higher and higher. All 125 students qualify for university education” Olupot stated.

“We have a highly dedicated staff, well renumerated staff, early syllabus completion, a state of the art science lab, conducive learning environment, high discipline among learners, Individual learner attention by teachers and definitely the enormous support from directors” he adds.

Amus College School Bukedea is not only a force in education, but also in sports, music, dance and drama.

Last year, the school took part at the World ISF football championships in Morocco, were winners of the girls football nationals in Mbarara city and losing finalists at the 2023 East Africa (FEASSSA) games in Huye city – Rwanda.

They also finished fourth during the 2023 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) boys’ football championship hosted by Nyakasura school in the tourism city of Fort Portal.

Music, dance and drama is yet another strong department for Amus College School Bukedea with good performances at the district, regional and national levels.
