The new dawn slogan used at Uganda’s most decorated club SC.VILLA continued to work as the club held their inaugural players’ awards at Sheraton Hotel Ball Room, Kampala on Saturday. Smartly dressed in suits were the villa players in attendance who were the main attractions at the event. New SC Villa captain Guma Denis was the biggest winner of the night scooping both the Paul Hasule Player of the Year Award as well as William Nkemba defender of the year Award. On top of the awards, the new skipper left Sheraton 1.75m shillings richer courtesy of the club management and Quality chemicals. ”This is unbelievable, i thank the management, team mates, the fans and the media for the award. Am looking forward to repaying their faith by bringing titles to Villa Park”, remarked Guma Denis.
Exciting youthful winger Erukana Nkugwa also bagged both the Paul Mukatabala Young Player of the Year award and the Ronald Vvubya midfielder of the year award. In his speech, the winger thanked the villa management, his team mates and the fans for recognizing him and promised to work harder the coming season.
The Magid Musisi top scores award went to Kalyowa Emma who bagged 5 goals while Patrick Kawooya administrator of the year award went to the late Luyimbazi Mugalu family. Luyima Sulayit bagged the Edward Nasamba goal keeper of the year award.
