Emojong Registers fifth win
Uganda’s Elijah Emojong secured a fifth win in the ninth round after beating India’s Karthik V. Ap rated 1978 in the Mumbai Mayor’s International Chess Championship that ends on Saturday 24th September 2011.
The win put Emojong on 5.5 points out of a possible 9. He has so far won five, drawn one and lost three including one against a Grandmaster.He is now scheduled to take on an Indian International Master (IM) Singh D. P rated 2344 in a tenth round game to be played today.
Good results in the remaining games could help the Ugandan youngster to improve on his international rating points. Emojong is currently rated 2156.
Leading the field of 264 players from various countries across the globe is Bulgaria’s Grandmaster Aleksej Aleksandrov rated 2618 at 8 points out of 9.
