
Eight national team players reported for national duty as the Uganda Cranes sets its eyes for its crucial Africa Cup of Nations qualifier with Harambee stars on October 8 at Mandela Stadium.
The players who reported for non-residential training include six players from league champions URA they are Robert Ssentongo, Manko Kawesa, Asuman Alishe, Simeon Masaba, Steven Bengo and Vincent Kayizzi others include Vietnam based professional Moses Oloya and Victors Ali Kimera. Others yet to report to camp include Dennis Guma, Mike Mutyaba, Hamza Muwonge, Godfrey Walusimbi and Owen Kasule. The players are expected to re-group again on Wednesday.
National head coach Bobby Williamson, was glad with the commitment of the players and was expecting the momentum of them to pick up. Uganda who tops group J with 10 points and must beat Kenya to advance to the first Africa Cup of Nations finals for the first time since 1978.
