The local soccer governing FUFA has sought divine salvation ahead of their crucial Africa Cup of Nations qualifier with Harambee stars on October 8 at Mandela stadium.
The federation in a meeting last week under the chairmanship of federation president Lawrence Mulindwa have resolved to have a whole weekend of prayers starting September 30 to October 2 as the designated days for special Cranes prayers across the country.
The prayers will kick-off on Friday September 30 with Muslim believers while October 1 is earmarked for the Seventh-day Adventists. The Anglicans and Roman Catholics will have their prayers on Sunday October 2.
FUFA has required its top echelon and Uganda Cranes players and officials to attend the various prayers.
Uganda has for the last two campaigns missed qualification narrowly and the 34 years of waiting is quite a long stretch that has to be cut short this time.
